Fawns (body painting)
Yesterday I decided to paint my babybelly to announce my pregnancy to my friends on Facebook. My belly is already quite huge because I am expecting twins!

I had seen some cute body paintings with babybellies on the internet and decided to go with twin animals. I found this lovely photo taken by Chris Kayler in 2009: https://www.chriskayler.com/blog/cute-white-tailed-deer-fawn-twins-sniffing-each-other-shenandoah-national-park-virginia

I sat in front of a mirror for maybe 2~3 hours and painted, using the mirror and looking down. It was a challenge, but it was super fun and turned out so much better than expected! I used sponges and a small brush to paint on Eulenspiegel water soluble body paint.

King penguins (pencil drawing)
I finished this drawing yesterday and will ship it to its new owner today :)
It shows a lovely couple of king penguins, the second largest kind of penguin (the largest being the emperor penguin).

The beautiful reference photo was taken by Brian Gratwicke in 2012 and shared under CC BY 2.0: flic.kr/p/bMu7bZ

The drawing was done using
Creta Color H, HB, 2B and 6B pencils as well as my new Faber Castell stump (Estompe). I never liked smudging much, but I had to try it out for those very soft shadows in the background and I must say I like it now :) I still prefer shading for foregrounds, but the smudging technique creates some nice effects as well.

It's a small drawing (about A5, 15x21 cm), and yet I used up two thirds of my 6B pencil (it is so soft and half of the graphite was either lost in the sharpening process or lost as powder on the paper that I had to blow away every 3 strokes :D )

I'm grateful for this lovely commission :)
Speaking of commissions, now that I have finished this one, I can't wait to get a new one ;) Send me a message if you're interested: Sillageuse@gmail.com

2017-02-03 Thunnus Thynnus (Atlantic Bluefin Tuna)
The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna, Thunnus Thynnus. This is one of the common tuna types we eat, in sushi etc. That's why overfishing is happening and the fish population has no time to recover, so this species is already endangered. They have died out in some parts of the world where they used to live.

Roughly 40 minutes, HB Creta Color Studioline.

Reference photo from opencage.info/pics.e/large_170…, 2012 (licence: CC BY-SA 2.5).

I'm still open for commissions, learn more over here: http://sillageuse.deviantart.com/journal/Commission-Info-623470687

2017-02-03 Dendroica Kirtlandii Kirtland's warbler
Dendroica Kirtlandii, also known as Setophaga Kirtlandii, the Kirtland's Warbler. This species is Near Threatened according to the IUCN Red List. Most of them live in Michigan. In the 1970s and 80s their population had been down to less than 200 singing males, but they have recovered a bit since then (about 2300 singing males in 2015).

The Kirtland's warbler has beautiful yellow and grey/black feathers. Reference photo taken by Joel Trick, USFWS in 2011: flic.kr/p/atqWpM (licence: CC BY 2.0).

I used only my HB Creta Color pencil (I had to start a new one because the old one got so short that my thumb started hurting again, so I took a break the day before).
This one took me almost 40 minutes.

Sorry I'm behind with uploads! I'm also behind with my challenge because I got a commission, so the daily drawings got second priority. (I'm also still not able to draw too much a day because of my health.)

I'm still open for commissions, learn more over here: sillageuse.deviantart.com/jour…
Or just send me a message at Sillageuse@gmail.com :) (Smile)

Hi there! I'm open for commissions!
I'm open for a lot of different mediums and motifs, but I guess most of my commissions will be portrait-like drawings, so here's more detailed info for basic portraits.
But please don't hesitate to message me if you want to ask anything (do you also draw X?), we can discuss every idea you have for a commission: Sillageuse@gmail.com Heart

Animal portrait (1 animal), Din A4, coloured pencils, simple or no background: 150,- EUR
Examples: Commission: Cat (color pencils) by Sillageuse Josy by Sillageuse

Dark animals or animals with large dark parts (like dark brown, dark grey or black) will cost extra, because dark colours take more time.
Example: Donkey (colour pencils) by Sillageuse
If you prefer a portrait of two or more animals (on one sheet of paper), each extra animal costs 50,- EUR.

None of these prices are guaranteed to apply to what you wish for, I will tell you the final cost after we have discussed the details, but these prices are the starting point for your orientiation.
For example, black and white drawings (pencils only) are cheaper, human portraits are more expensive. The price is lower if the size is smaller and of course the price is higher if the size is bigger. Detailed backgrounds will cost more, sketch-like (rough) drawings are cheaper, etc. (You get the idea... ;) )

Please message me at Sillageuse@gmail.com if you're interested in commissioning me!
